Happy birthday to my beautiful son mr JAY! Turning the big 12 today .. being a mum to a 12 year old is interesting lol …already flexing with his uncles! I have the exciting teenage years to live through now yaya! All things start with a jay today! I have read the average 12 year old has 10 mood swings a day ..oh yer bring it on and give me some of that .. he isnt even a chick lol…….good times not haha

Good afternoon my lovely people. In winter time we need to watch those portion sizes. To help keep a healthy portion size use a smaller plate, avoid going back for seconds. Aim to fill your plate with veg, one quarter with meat or meat alternatives like chicken,fish or legumes and the last quarter with gains and cereals. As always go for the wholegrain option and be sure to read those food labels ..it sure does open your eyes as to whats in you food.
It’s hard to find time to exercise if your week is busy, but fitting in a brisk walk everyday , or a couple of workouts a week at the gym, will mean that your success rate on a diet or lifestyle overhaul will be much better than if you nothing at all. Any exercise that raises your heart rate consistently for a minimum of 20 minutes is ideal. And whike exercise is essential, movement is even more crucial, take the stairs at work or walk to the next bustop to kep physically active. But don;t overdo things if you over exercise your metabolic rate may actually slow down in time. Have a small snack before and after you exercise to sustain your energy levels.
